National Rail:

Mill Hill

Summary:

NW7 occupies a large area on the north west of London, Mill Hill Broadway about 9 miles from the centre of London. Hendon in N4 has the convenience, or blight (whichever way you look at it) of being a great crossing for such roads as the Great North Way, the Watford Way and the M1 motorway. This cross-sectioning of the area does mean that neither Hendon nor Mill Hill has a 'proper' centre, but both have a wide spread of local amenities, Mill Hill an abundance of green open spaces, with parks and playing fields, and there is a good choice of independent schools.

Properties:

Hendon has homes to suit every taste; large family detached houses, houses converted into spacious modern flats as well as retirement flats, rows of suburban terraces, pretty cottages and smart new luxury developments - some apartments have one bathroom to every bedroom. There are large and small 1930s suburban semi's many with green views. Flat conversions in both the private and ex-council sector are in abundance. Popular Mill Hill is an attractive belt of suburbia with its carefully designed grid of roads, and home to the very wealthy. Luxury new homes grace the leafy streets, mainly flats, some with views of the golf course, and there are large detached period residences in tree-lined locations. Mill Hill Village houses the very wealthy and has a mix of old and modern architect-designed houses, 3 bedroom semi-detached, as well as the smaller houses. New developments join the flat conversions and there are some ex-Council conversions.

Buyers:

Popular for family homes, there is a sizeable, stable Jewish community. Good choice of schools and convenience for commuters attracts city workers, rentals via buy-to-let, and first-time buyers.
