NW3 has long been a fashionable and desirable area in which to live and this is reflected in the property prices of this hilly part of London. The attractive village centre with its Georgian architecture and wide, leafy avenues, and Hampstead Heath, acres upon acres of spacious public space, ensure the area's popularity. Lavish, new properties have brought a cosmopolitan wealth to Hampstead and it remains one of the capital's most desirable areas in which to live. Close by is Hampstead Garden Suburb, an early 20th century, purpose-built model village with beautiful tree-lined streets and a feeling of space. The whole suburb is a conservation area.
